The district of Moga is one of Punjab, India’s twenty-two districts. On November 24, 1995, the district of Faridkot was divided to become the 17th district of Punjab State. In Punjab, India, Moga District is one of the major producers of rice and wheat. Moga City and Moga District residents are Malwa by culture. The district is known as the “NRI district” because a significant part of Indian Punjabi expatriates who fled abroad and their descendants still call it home.
