Mohali district, one of Punjab’s twenty-three districts, was once known as SAS Nagar district or Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district. Punjab is a state in India’s northwest. It was constructed next to the Pathankot district and became the 18th district in Punjab when it was established in April of 2006. This district was created by dividing portions of the Patiala and Ropar districts. It is close to Chandigarh union territory, Ambala, and Panchkula districts in Haryana.

The district’s official name is Sahibzada Ajit Singh, after the eldest son of Guru Gobind Singh.
