The district of Jaisalmer is the biggest inside the Indian state of Rajasthan and ranks third overall in the country. The district’s administrative center is at the city of Jaisalmer, which is situated in Marwar (Jodhpur Division). The distances are roughly 289 km (180 mi) to Jodhpur and 559 km (347 mi) to Jaipur, the Rajasthani capital. Out of all 33 districts in Rajasthan, it has the least population as per the 2011 population census.
