In the Indian state of Sikkim, the Pakyong district is a district that is run out of Pakyong. Three former East Sikkim district subdivisions—Pakyong Subdivision, Rangpo Subdivision, and Rongli Subdivision—combined to establish the district in 2021. The Gangtok district, which borders the Pakyong district to the northwest, was created from the remnants of the predecessor district, the Gangtok Subdivision. The Namchi district of Sikkim and the Kalimpong district of West Bengal, Bhutan, and China also presently encircle the area.
