Located in the northern state of Telangana, India, Adilabad district is referred to as the “gateway district” to South and Central India. The district headquarters is located in the town of Adilabad. The district is bordered to the east by Asifabad district, to the south by Nirmal district, and to the north and west by the state of Maharashtra. As of 2022, Adilabad district is a part of the red corridor.
