Khowai is a district in Tripura, India. This district was founded in January 2012, when four new districts were created in Tripura, increasing the state’s number of districts from four to eight. The district headquarters are in the town of Khowai. The district was formed by combining West Tripura district with the new Sipahijala district. The district is divided into two subdivisions: Khowai and Teliamura.
