India’s hill state of Uttarakhand has the district of Tehri Garhwal. New Tehri is home to its administrative headquarters. As of the 2011 census, the district has 618, 931 residents, up 2.35% from the previous ten years. It is encircled by the districts of Pauri Garhwal in the south, Uttarkashi in the north, Dehradun in the west, and Rudraprayag in the east. The Himalayas include Tehri Garhwal.
