North 24 Parganas, also known as North Twenty Four Parganas (abbreviated 24 PGS (N)), is a district in eastern India’s southern West Bengal state. In the tropical zone, North 24 Parganas stretches from longitude 88º20′ east to 89º5′ east and from latitude 22° 11′ 6′′ north to 23° 15′ 2′′ north. North 24 Parganas’ district headquarters are located in Barasat. As of 2014, North 24 Parganas is the most inhabited district in India overall and the most populated district in West Bengal[3]. By area, it is the State’s tenth-largest district
