Nepalgunj, sometimes written Nepalganj, is a sub-metropolitan city in the Nepalese Banke District. It is located on the Terai plains, close to the southern boundary of Uttar Pradesh, India’s Bahraich district. Nepalgunj is located 16 km south of Kohalpur and 153 miles southwest of Ghorahi. Prior Village Development Committee: On June 28, 2071, Paush 28 was the territory joined to Udayapur, Bhawaniyapur, Piprahawa, Jaispur, Paraspur, Indrapur, Khaskarkado, Bashudevpur, Manikapur, and Puraina to create a Sub Metropolitan City. On June 21, 2072, Puraini was added to the list. Additionally, ward number 23 (the old Indrapur VDC) was transferred to the Janaki Rural Municipality and ward number 7 (the former Hirminiya VDC) was added to Nepalgunj as part of the nationwide restructuring of local levels.
