In southwest Nigeria, there is a sizable metropolis called Lagos, sometimes known as Lagos City. It is the most populated urban area on the African continent and the largest metropolis in Nigeria, with an upper population estimate of 21 million. Prior to the government’s decision in December 1991 to relocate the capital to Abuja in the nation’s center, Lagos served as Nigeria’s capital. Lagos serves as both the economic center of Lagos State and all of Nigeria and is one of the major financial hubs of Africa. The city has a big impact on African politics, business, entertainment, technology, education, tourism, and the arts and fashion. Lagos is also one of the ten cities and metropolitan areas in the world with the fastest rate of growth.
