The capital and largest city of Panama is Panama City, sometimes referred to as Panama (or Panamá in Spanish). There are 1,086,990 people living there overall, with over 1,500,000 of them living in the city. Situated in the province of Panama, the city is situated near the Pacific entrance of the Panama Canal. The nation’s banking and commercial hubs are located in the city, which also serves as its political and administrative capital.[8]

On August 15, 1519, Spanish conquistador Pedro Arias Dávila established the city of Panama. The city served as the launchpad for expeditions that overthrew Peru’s Inca Empire.
